Eindhoven: E-4B

Beitrag von Triple Nickel »

Nothing to do with NRN but VERY interesting.

This afternoon an United States Air Force E-4B landed at Eindhoven AB.

The aircraft is parked at the 334sqn ramp and can be photographed but not ver good as it is parked with tail towards you.

Reason of the visit is not clear but it seems to be that Mildenhall is closed and there was a total closure of UK airspace this moring due to a computer failure in the UK air traffic control.
And of course, president bush is in Europe...

The E-4B departure will be on sunday, time is unknown (yet).

The E-4B is on a constantly readiness in case of emergency and has one enige running during parking.

Go get ém!

Greetz, Ron

BildThe E-4B serves as the National Airborne Operations Center for the president and secretary of defense. In case of national emergency or destruction of ground command control centers, the aircraft provides a highly survivable, command, control and communications center to direct U.S. forces, execute emergency war orders and coordinate actions by civil authorities.

Yep I heard that too. Untill now the people on the airport still say Tuesday as the real departure day. But, nobody can really confirm it. So if you want to see it, it's better to go sunday as monday
