Baggage Handlers Strike Action - London Stansted Airport –1st, 3rd & 11th November 2004 – Hand Baggage Only Accepted – NO CHECKED IN BAGS

Swissport, Ryanair’s 3rd party baggage handler in London Stansted Airport has confirmed that strike action will take place on Monday 1st, Wednesday 3rd and Thursday. 11th November 2004. Swissport will put a contingency plan into action on these dates, so that flights can operate to and from London Stansted Airport. However, Ryanair cannot guarantee that a check in facility for baggage or bag handling services to the aircraft will operate, as normal. Consequently, passengers travelling on the above dates are asked to carry HAND baggage ONLY of up to 10kg per adult passenger. The maximum dimensions for cabin bags are 50cm x 35cm x 23cm (20x14x9ins).

This industrial action, by Swissport’s baggage handlers, is outside of Ryanair’s control and as such, Ryanair is not responsible for being unable to accept checked in luggage.

However, effected passengers who are on their return journey and are travelling with checked in baggage may transfer (subject to availability) to alternative flights on the day following the strike.

Swissport, ein Unternehmen, daß für die Gepäckabfertigung in London Stansted verantwortlich ist,hat einen Streik für Montag, den 1. November, Mittwoch, den 3. und Donnerstag, den 11. November 2004 angekündigt. Momentan finden Verhandlungen zwischen SWISSPORT und deren Mitarbeiter statt, die noch nicht abgeschlossen wurden. Weitere Informationen diesbezüglich finden Sie auf dieser Website am Freitag, den 29 Oktober 2004 um 10:00 Uhr.

Sollte der angekündigter Streik statt finden, wird Swissport einen Notplan aufstellen, der es ermöglicht die Flüge von und nach den Flughafen London Stansted, durchzuführen! Ryanair kann keine Gewähr dafür übernehmen daß das Gepäck, wie gewohnt, abgefertigt wird. Aus diesem Grund werden alle betroffenen Reisenden gebeten an den o.g. Daten NUR HANDGEPÄCK bis 10 Kg pro Erwachsenen, mitzunehmen (maximale Maße 50cm x 35cm x 23cm).

Dieser MÖGLICHE Streik wird organisiert von Mitarbeiter der SWISSPORT-Gepäckabfertigung. RyanAir ist somit nicht verantwortlich, wenn daß Gepäck nicht eingecheckt werden kann. Sollte der Streik wie angekündig stattfinden, können betroffene Reisenden, die auf dem Rückweg ihrer Reise sind und Gepäck dabei haben (nach Möglichkeit) auf einen alternativ Flug umgebucht werden.
