RYANAIR INCREASES CABIN BAGGAGE ALLOWANCES

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 low fares airline, today (23rd June 04) announced it is to increase cabin baggage maximum allowances from 7kilos to 10kilos to take effect from Tuesday 29th June 2004. The current hold baggage maximum allowance of 15 kilos per passenger will remain unchanged. In addition, excess baggage charges will increase to £4.50/€7.00 per kilo from the same date.

Any passengers with bookings prior to 29th June 04 are entitled to the current excess baggage rates of £4.00/€6.00 as per their itinerary/terms and conditions.

Commenting today, Ryanair’s Head of Customer Service, Caroline Green said:

“Ryanair is committed to delivering what European consumers really want – Europe’s lowest airfares, No.1 punctuality and customer service. These positive changes to our baggage allowances will benefit Ryanair’s 28 million passengers this year, and at the same time encourage passengers not to exceed baggage limits. Ryanair is actively considering ways of lowering fares to our passengers and encouraging hand baggage only is just the first step.”

Cheers,
