Those freighter aircraft in may... Magicbird?

Beitrag von Triple Nickel »

All of a sudden I read and hear al lot about an (new?) dutch airline, and thsi could well be the airline that is going to fly the freight from Weeze to Coventry in Mai.

I found the following info:

Website: http://www.magicbird.nl http://www.magicbirdcargo.eu

They operate Fokker 50, and ATP.

Aircraft: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1174723/M/

Magicbird is a dutch all-cargo airline wich provides ''cost-effective'', efficient and reliable air logistical services throughout europe. The airline had some startup problems but had recently painted two aircraft in their colors.

BAE Systems Regional Aircraft Leases Two ATP Freighters to Magicbird Airlines

BAE Systems Regional Aircraft has signed long-term leases with MagicBird Airlines for two ATP turboprop freighters, both of which are configured as E-Class bulk freighters.

Delivery of the first aircraft (msn 2052) took place in mid-April and has been placed into service based in Stockholm on a Swedish post office contract. The second aircraft (2042) will follow within weeks and is scheduled for allocation to a similar contract in Europe.

Magicbird Airlines' Dutch management team has extensive experience of the regional air cargo market in Europe and has plans eventually to operate up to eight ATP freighters in both E class and large cargo door configuration.

Although based in the Netherlands (HQ is at Beech Avenue 200, Schiphol-Rijk), MagicBird envisages operating its ATPF fleet widely across Europe on a variety of contracts on behalf of postal authorities and the cargo integrators.

The lease of these two aircraft to MagicBird brings the total of ATP freighters now contracted for or delivered to 23 aircraft with five operators.

Hmmm... cargoplanes aplenty available... Most of the Emeralds are still parked in Blackpool and Coventry, I hear.

But.. we should be wary of airlines ending in xxxbird, don't you think?!

I now heard from another independant and reliable source that indeed Magicbird is flying from NRN.

I don't know if they will base their F50F's in NRN.

Unconfirmed rumors say that 2 aircraft will be based.

It seems that Magic Bird is NOT coming to NRN because both Fokker 50's will be added to the inventory of an Aircraft Leasing Company.

Nederlandse luchtvaartmaatschappij MagicBird Cargo failliet

05-07-2007

SCHIPHOL - De Nederlandse luchtvaartmaatschappij MagicBird Cargo is failliet.
