I have managed to scan some ''wildy'' pics..... sorry the tears ar taking over now...

Wildenrath was the nicest RAFG base....

As a young spotter I was going to Wildenrath by bike. The mornings we spent at the rather boring Bruggen, and in the afternoon we went to Wildenrath. This first thing you saw at Wildenrath was a visiting aircraft.

On my first day I saw RAF Shackleton, RAF VC10, RAF Buccaneer, Danish Saab Draken.... Ans it was a very foggy day! But a day I will always remember. It was 60km of cycling!!! But I am glad that my daddy drove us there a lot!! That was a relief! Luckily he was fond of aircraft too!

Here are some pics to enjoy! All of them are taken on base during a spottersday. Except the "Bleu Dolphin"

Ende 1991 wurden diese Aufnahmen gemacht. Die 19 Sqn lud zum letzten Familientag/Fototag ein. Leider war das Wetter nicht so gut...

Thanks for the photos. It brings back memories of when I was stationed at RAF Wattisham in Suffolk, East Anglia. 56 Sqn, had the normal RAF Phantom & 74 Sqn, got theirs from a desert in America (ex US Navy). If I remember they had GEC engines. :D :D

Cheers,

White Cap

Hallo und herzlich willkommen hier im Forum!

Du hast sicherlich schon bemerkt, das der Threat aus dem Jahr 2004 (!!!) , also gut 9 1/2 Jahre alt ist ?? Ich selber kenne kein Board/Site, die Bilder oder sonstwas über einen solchen Zeitraum online halten ...

Gruß

Joe
