RAF Tornado crashes into the sea off east coast of England

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that a Tornado GR4 from RAF Marham crashed into The Wash today, 24 October 2006.

The aircraft was on a routine training mission.

Both crew members ejected safely and were rescued by RAF Sea King Helicopters from RAF Leconfield and Wattisham.

As at Tuesday afternoon, they were on the way to a nearby hospital for medical checkups.
