Als ich gestern eine Viertelstunde vor dem Infoschalter wartete ging 3 mal das Telefon und Leute fragten offensichtlich, wo überall hingeflogen wird. 2 der Anrufer wollten nach München, die Dame an dem Counter musste jedesmal geduldig erklären, dass es zur Zeit keine Flüge gibt. Gleich 2 solche Nachfragen in den paar Minuten wo ich da stand, hat mich überrascht. Kann aber natürlich auch purer Zufall sein Denk aber auch, das Interesse da ist.

If anyone here remembers how Hahn really got onto the aviation map, then they will remember that Ryanair and Lufthansa had a lot to do with it.

And it didn't happen over night!

Because LH took FR to court about using the name Frankfurt-Hahn, HHN was able to benefit from the free advertising.

If O'Leary comes to NRN at his own cost, and hold a press conference there, then that proves quite a bit about his support for NRN. Just because he didn't anounce any new destinations or that NRN is to be the new hub, still dowsn't mean that what happended yesterday won't help the airport. He has, alaong with the marketing department and the management at the airport, started quite a large advertising campaign for Ryanair and the future of the airport. It's a first, and quite large, step in the right direction as far as I see it.

NRN is a young and unique airport and won't have an easy time getting out of the starting blocks, but niether did any large project have it completely easy. So my suggestion is for everyone to just be patient, nothing will happen over night and complaining won't make anything better.

As far as the public calling the airport and asking for flight information, that even happens at larger airports where not every airport in the world is in their destinations.

Putting a business plan together and financing an airline is no easy deal. Everything must be planned and thoughtout thoroughly, or the same will happen again, what happend to V-Bird.

Michael O'Leary comming to the airport for a press conference and announcing the free flights was great, and it brought a lot of advertising for the airport, which is desperately needed! Just look at the "Bild" from Düsseldorf today. These are business people who have to follow their own budgets, and business plans, and are helping out each other. They have my full support!

P.S. Am looking to book NRN-CIA-NRN for Karneval for €97 for 2 including everything. That's my thanks to Mr. O'Leary and to NRN!

Dann hätte man doch mal etwas "handfestes" für eventuelle neue Airlines (XX Anfragen in YY Tagen für MUC...).

Kann das mal jemand mit Verbindungen rauskriegen oder am Airport anregen?

Hoffentlich sieht man diese Nachfragen als wertvolle Infos an und bildet daraus gewisse Wettbewerbspotentiale die man Investoren vorlegen kann. Manch eine Firma zahlt teures Geld für Umfrage und Panels, die dann eben diese Kundenwünsche und Kundenverhalten herausstellen!

da liegt Ihr m. E. völlig daneben. Die PR-Welle, die MOL für NRN auslöst, schwappt jetzt endlich mal bis nach Köln/Bonn. Groß aufgemachte Presseartikel heute in den hiesigen Zeitungen, Rundschau, Stadtanzeiger, Generalanzeiger (vielleicht schaffe ich gleich noch einen Scan für die Presseschau)! Bingo!
Schon vergessen, dass VBird hier völlig unbekannt war, ebenso der Flughafen "Niederrhein", den kein Mensch zu lokalisieren vermochte? Im Gegensatz zu den Amateuren von VBird weiß er, wie man sein Produkt richtig vermarktet! Heute war das Thema auf meiner Arbeit in Köln als auch an meinem Wohnort Bonn in aller Munde! VBird dagegen kannte hier kein Mensch! FR und Weeze werden hier endlich bekannt, und dafür braucht er nur mal für eine Stunde Klamauk zu machen. So billig, und so effektiv! Die NRN-Macher können sich bedanken, dass er Weeze so wirkungsvoll unter die Arme greift!
Und die Sache mit dem "Highcost Airport" DUS - einfach köstlich!

Naja, so billig ist eine 738 als Privatjet ja auch nicht, dürfte schon so 6-8000€ für den Flug hingelegt haben, is aber für Onkel Mol ja auch nur aus der Portokasse.

Denn: FR wird NRN bestimmt nicht mit Landegebühren überschütten. Und das wichtigste ist nunmal, dass Geld in die Kasse von NRN kommt.

Hahn sollte um Himmels willen kein Vorbild für NRN sein, höchstens ein Zubrot.

Das stimmt natürlich; FR als "Stimmungsmacher" ist aber schon sehr wertvoll. Und als Überbrückungshilfe und Katalysator der weiteren Entwicklung. Aber mittelfristig muss natürlich was dazu kommen. Ganz klar!

I didn't really think Ryanair would announce any new routes. I still think they are testing the water. My only hope at the moment, is that the four new destinations prove so popular that Ryanair put on more aircraft. Then we might see more routes in the future.
