Onur Air not allowed in The Netherlands anymore

From today, Onur Air is not allowed to fly in The Netherlands anymore. This is for at least one month.

Maybe an opportunity for NRN?????

Inspectie Verkeer en Waterstaat trekt landingsrechten Onur Air in

HOOFDORP - De Inspectie Verkeer en Waterstaat trekt voor een maand de landingsrechten in van het Turkse Onur Air naar aanleiding van een nieuw incident op dinsdag 10 mei. Het vliegverbod is met onmiddellijke ingang van kracht geworden. Dinsdag 10 mei ontstond een probleem met het zogenoemde straalomkeersysteem van een Airbus 300 op de startbaan van het vliegveld van Antalya.

De afgelopen tijd heeft een reeks van incidenten plaatsgevonden. De Inspectie Verkeer en Waterstaat heeft daarop onlangs een laatste waarschuwing gegeven aan de Turkse luchtvaartmaatschappij. Het nieuwe incident is aanleiding voor het vliegverbod.

Het verbod geldt vooralsnog tot zondag 12 juni 12.00 uur. In deze periode moet Onur Air aantonen structurele verbeteringen te hebben doorgevoerd om de veiligheid te garanderen.

Op dit moment (donderdag 12 mei, 11.45 uur) zijn nog twee toestellen van Onur Air onderweg naar Maastricht. Zij mogen hun vlucht afmaken en landen op de luchthaven Maastricht Aachen Airport.

I cannot see it as an opportunity for NRN. You surely won`t have any of those negativ incidents, Onur got known for during the last month, on your airfield. One of those airlines one wants to have closely watched.

I admit: Onur Air is not the most reliable airline and the negative publicity is not very good for them. That they are continuesly under investigation is absolutely their own fault.

BUT: I also think all this negative publicity is a little bit blown up by the Netherlands.

Yesterday, Airbus gave Onur Air a reward of excellence for best A321 user.

‘Airbus onderscheiding voor Onur Air’

SCHIPHOL – De Turkse luchtvaartmaatschappij Onur Air, die de afgelopen weken fel is bekritiseerd vanwege technische incidenten, is door vliegtuigbouwer Airbus onderscheiden met een Award of Excellence als gebruiker van de Airbus A321-vloot. Dit meldt een verslaggever van ochtendkrant De Telegraaf vandaag (12 mei).

De onderscheiding komt op een bijzonder moment gezien de waarschuwing die de maatschappij ontving van de Nederlandse overheidsorganisatie Inspectie Verkeer en Waterstaat.

I totally agree with @PMI-01 comments. NRN can't aford to take risks with unsafe or cowboy airlines at this time!

You are right, nobody wants an airline like that, but as I already said:

I think it wouldn´t make a sence for Onur to fly from NRN. With Sky and Atlas Jet we allready have enough Turkey-flights. We need something else in NRN! Not everyone wants to go to Turkey...

As I said before, their last year wasn`t very good and the other impression of their Airbus fleet gave me the following post on another airliner forum:

Yeah, I think we need flight within Germany again.

Berlin, München, Mallorca(ich weiß, dass Mallorca offiziell zu Spanien gehört!!!) und NRN hätte einen ganz anderen Stellenwert.
Möglichst nicht von Ryanair bedient!

No, Ryanair must not do flights within Germany. I think it is much better when we have something like Air Berlin or Hapag Lloyd. Even if it is just one destination.

Das Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) in Braunschweig hat aus Sicherheitsgründen der türkischen Charterfluggesellschaft Onur Air am Donnerstag, 12. Mai 2005, mit sofortiger Wirkung die Einflugerlaubnis nach Deutschland entzogen.

mal sehen, wie es jetzt mit denen weitergeht. Ohne es zu wissen habe ich wohl die vorläufig letzte Landung eines Onur Airbusses in Düsseldorf geknipst...



...auf dem Bild sieht es aus, als wäre nur auf der rechten Seite der "reverser" in Aktion... ...



...nun ja, auf jeden Fall steht der Flieger jetzt auf Position V15 und der Rückflug nach Antalya ist gestrichen worden...
