Mini-trip: Nordrhein-Westfalen 11/08/04

Hello,

Today I made a little (280 km) trip by motor in the German NRW area.

First I went to Flughafen Mönchengladbach. No special aircraft where seen there. Each time I visit this place it looks more empty .....

By the way, I looked like there where film-shootings on a closed highway near the airport.

Then I went to Flughafen Düsseldorf. It was real quit here. The following aircraft where seen here:

After a half hour stay at DUS I drove to Flugplatz Essen-Mullheim. Also very quit. Seen here:

And several stored Fokker 27's and light aircraft.

After Essen I visited the heliport at the BG Unfallklinik in Duisburg. Here I saw:
D-HBGS Bo-105 BMI (Christoph 9)

Then I went to Flugplatz Dinslaken-Schwarze Heide. At the Extra factory it looked if it was closed. Following aircraft where seen during a short break at this airfield:
D-FKMD AN-2
D-EMKJ M.20C

Then I drove to Flugplatz Wesel. No aircraft where seen here. Nice to see the hangars build in an old bridge !! On my way to Alpen I saw a Tornado flying very low in the direction of Wesel.

Last but not least I went to homebase Niederrhein (see movements section).

I agree! A really nice report!

It might be, that the highway near Mönchengladbach was closed for producing the popular TV series "Alarm für Cobra 11 - die Autobahnpolizei".

P.S.: I also think, that pics would be great!
